So Much To Say

The CNN Political Ticker has one main focus: politics. It's hard to create a summary of all the blog has discussed in the past week, when frankly they've discussed it all. Today for example, there were entries from both parties about the outcome of the debate, numerous entries about "joe the plumber," updates on both candidates new advertisements and an entry about Obama's dealings with ACORN, just to name a few.

I guess I'll start by summarizing the outcome of the debate. According to CNN polls, the Americans surveyed believe Barack Obama won the final debate last night. In that poll, 58% of viewers believed Obama won, with 31% believing that McCain came out victorious. I personally disagree, as I believe that McCain was more aggressive and informative in this debate than any previous. While according to the Political Ticker, I disagree with the majority, McCain got good reviews, just not quite as good as Obama's.

The Ticker has tireless mention of "joe the plumber", as he was mentioned 11 times in the debate last night. I was a little fuzzy as to what this referance was all about until I read one of the Ticker's entries. A tall, bald man in Ohio asked Obama about his tax plan, because he was planning on purchasing a company worth over $250,000. He was concerned that he would be taxed more heavily because of this. Obama responded that he wanted to lower taxes for those who had less money so that they would be able to put more money into companies like the one this man intends on purchasing. McCain disagrees with this approach. Since that meeting in Ohio, "joe the plumber" has become a common thread in the election.

CNN Political Ticker

The CNN Political Ticker follows many aspects of American politics. Currently, it's mainly centered around the presidential debate. It also discusses the current economic crisis. It has tons of entry each day about all different political stories. If there's anything happening in politics, it's on this blog.

This blog has way more posts each day then any other blog I've looked at. This blog isn't biased. While the entries themselves may be biased, it provides articles that support both sides in the presidential election. The blog posts are not all written by the same person, so you get many different opinions on similar topics.

One entry on the blog describes which candidate is getting which electoral votes as of now. New research is showing that more states are tending towards Obama at this time. The entry has an up to date map of which states are voting or leaning which way. I think that a great deal can still change between now and election day. While those key states are tending towards Obama now, nothing is secured until the actual election takes place. We'll just have to wait and see who wins this presidential election.
